CV Villas Holiday Guide

We’ve put together a handy month-by-month guide for the best time of year to visit some of our favourite places.

January is possibly the best month to go on holiday as far as we’re concerned. Once the excitement of Christmas has passed and we’ve had our fun ringing in the New Year, it’s only a matter of time until we feel those familiar January blues approaching. What better way to eliminate that feeling of melancholy than to jet set across the globe to somewhere the sun is shining? Our recommendation is Antigua, with its unique curving coastline of white sand beaches and dramatic mountainous vistas. January is the perfect time to visit as the weather is at its driest with an average daytime temperature of 25°c.

Our recommendation for February is another stunning Caribbean island: Mustique. A private island known for idyllic white sand beaches, it’s no wonder visitors continue to return to this beautiful and tranquil haven. The average daytime temperature in February is a satisfying 25°c.

With pleasant highs of 22°c spring arrives in March in Tenerife, and with it comes a welcome abundance of beautiful wildflowers. A great destination for a walking holiday as well as an Easter break with the kids, Tenerife is a versatile destination with something for everyone. For impressive panoramic views of the island, take the cable car to the pinnacle of Mount Teide.

As the April showers come pouring down at home, we recommend you head to a warmer part of the world. Morocco, specifically Marrakech is perfect in springtime. If you are yet to visit Tuscany, then May is the time to go. Before the height of summer it offers pleasant daytime temperatures at an average of 23 c. Côte d'Azur

The Côte d'Azur may be known for the glitz and glamour of Cannes Film Festival but we recommend waiting until the festivities are over to truly enjoy what the destination has to offer. Channel your inner VIP with a visit to La Croissette, or simply soak up the atmosphere and while away your afternoons on one of many beautiful beaches. Highs of 27°c make June the perfect time to visit.

The pedestrianized old town is a UNESCO world heritage site, and one not to be missed. The school holidays may well be over, but the chance to make it feel like the summer isn’t is to take a break in September. Although many countries in Europe will be cooling down, one island where you’re still likely to experience an average daily temperate of 24 c is Crete. It is not only the biggest but also the hottest of the Greek Islands, with attractive beaches, mountain villages and an absolute heaven for foodies.

Some of us prefer to spend December at home, wrapped up and feeling festive in the run up to Christmas. But if you’d prefer to escape the hectic atmosphere at home, then Jamaica is just the place to do it. With a December average of 26c this is a popular time to visit for an alternative festive season.
