Enjoy relaxing on the golden beaches, trekking or a jeep safari on Mount Etna, visiting the archaeological sites or a cooking class. The island is also known for outstanding food and wine and restaurants offering superb value for money. This strong combination of history, mild climate and a vibrant contemporary eating, drinking and shopping scene give this island of wine, citrus fruits and ancient landscapes perennial stellar appeal.
It is now the season of Sicilian blood oranges. The climate and local conditions of Catania’s plain, near Mount Etna, encourages the growth of these fruits, and this is the only place in the world that produces them. Blood oranges are grown at our property Tenuta San Giorgio. Tarocco is a new blood orange variety believed to have been developed recently.
Tenuta San Giorgio and Dimora del Santo are unique, special places and excellent value for large parties . Our smaller family properties such as Casa Iblea, Villa Inzolia, Villa Plumbago, Villa del Sale, Il Gelso offer superb value and are set in private, lush gardens within easy reach of historic towns, shops and restaurants.
