Places to practise on International Yoga Day

On International Yoga Day, we share some of our favourite yogi-friendly villas.

Today is International Yoga Day, and here at CV we believe that yoga and holidays go hand in hand. After all, they’re both about finding a sense of peace and wellbeing, and that all-important me time. We often find that holidays are the perfect chance to schedule some time for yourself that you wouldn’t find in your normal busy everyday life, and so they can be the perfect opportunity to practise more regularly, or take some lessons if you’re new to yoga. We have a range of villas for the yogi in you, from houses with inspiring spots to practise, to tailor-made yoga rooms and properties where private lessons can be arranged.

Amarea, Corfu
If you’re in need of some inspiration in your yoga practice, look no further than Amarea. With a private yoga platform over the sparkling turquoise water you’ll be disturbed by nothing more than the lapping of the waves. The house itself will leave you feeling equally zen, with a stunning 40m swimming pool, beautiful beach-chic interiors and a concierge service for your every need. Superbly designed for leisure and luxury, the stone-built villa is comprised of three pavilion-style buildings, each looking out to its own perspective of the sea and the mainland beyond.

Baraka Point, British Virgin Islands
Whether you’ve been practising yoga for years, or are simply looking for a little extra relaxation on your holiday, Baraka Point has got you covered. With a dedicated wellness pavilion for yoga sessions, lessons can be arranged with the on-site yoga instructor, while each suite has a private deck perfect for early morning practice. This boutique hotel-style estate really is the last word in luxury, with resort amenities, an excellent team of staff and a private sand beach - part of CV's Private Collection, it is perfect for special occasions.

Caliope, Cyprus
Caliope offers all the comfort and privacy of a villa holiday, with all the benefits of a first class resort, including private yoga lessons which can be arranged either at the property or the nearby Retreat Spa. With fitness packages and an extensive spa menu also on offer this really is the place to work on your wellbeing, and with a kids' club on site it's easy to schedule some time for yourself. That is if you can drag yourself away from your villa's 10 metre private infinity pool with panoramic sea views. Aphrodite Hills Resort is the perfect choice for a luxury family holiday.

Ca’n Castello, Ibiza
Ibiza might be synonymous with hedonism, but it’s also known for its thriving wellbeing scene, so it’s the perfect place to fit in a few lessons, or indeed a full yoga course. Continue the good work back at stunning Ca’n Castello, where yoga mats are provided and the roof terrace is the perfect spot for sun salutations at sunset. This property really is designed for peaceful outdoor living, with fabulous views from the private pool and every terrace.
